Ghana – West Africa’s Trade Hub
SevenLog is a proudly Ghanaian company, and we feel privileged to be located here as Ghana is rapidly becoming the most significant trade hub and corridor for ECOWAS (the Economic Community of West African States).
Ghana is one of the best ports of entry for landlocked countries in West Africa in terms of both time and money. With the recent upgrade and development of the passenger and cargo terminals at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, as well as the USD $1.5 billion development of new port infrastructure currently underway at Tema, Ghana is increasingly able to operate logistics at a world class level. The new port will have the capacity to handle 3.5 million TEUs.
Also, due to strict adherence to ECOWAS vehicle and cargo load restrictions, Ghana’s roads are in very good condition and secure as compared to the rest of the region. As a result transit cargo moves through the country, and on to neighbouring countries, far faster, and arrives in good condition. Thus, top international shippers recognise Ghana as the best corridor to the West African hinterland countries. SevenLog has been one of the pioneers for transhipments through Takoradi and Tema, moving over 100 trucks weekly to border countries.
We are currently the only logistics service provider in Ghana with offices at the country’s key land and sea borders. We also have plans in place to cover the significant increase in loads that the new port will bring. Finally, Ghana offers better service delivery than most of its neighbours, and SevenLog is proud to continue to contribute towards raising this standard.

The Future
The USD $1.5 billion port development project currently underway at Tema, expected to be completed in 2020, is one of top 5 largest port projects in the world and the biggest port in Africa. With a capacity of 1.5 million TEUs and a deep-water berth of up to 18 meters, which will allow larger vessels to enter the port, Tema will be the biggest entry point for goods into West Africa. This will ease much of the congestion that currently occurs at Abidjan and other ports along the West African coast.
SevenLog is equipped to facilitate and manage logistics services for shipments of all sizes at the new port, and handle transit cargo to landlocked countries. We already have offices at key land borders to handle this traffic.
